Baby Boom!

A lot of people don't believe me when I tell them Walker is just one of TEN babies born into my family this year. It's a little crazy, I know, but it's the god-honest truth--between my sister and I plus eight of our cousins, there are ten brand new babies--4 boys and 6 girls--and a cumulative 200 fingers + toes to love.

We decided it was necessary to get us all together for a group photo of all our little ones to document this amazing feat. While most of us live locally, a couple families traveled from their homes in L.A. to take the photo this past weekend.

There they are! In all their naked glory. Looking that the picture, I get why people don't believe me. It's almost impossible to believe so many kiddos belong to one family! What can I say--we are Mexican hahaha.

To say that morning was chaos is an understatement. At any given point there was a baby crying or eating or pooping or sleeping. Thank goodness for my gracious host of a cousin who provided coffee and bagels for all of us bleary-eyed mamas! I managed to capture some behind-the-scenes moments including this hilarious video:

I leave you with this photo of my son, a ray of sunshine, with all of his boy cousins. LOL

And Then There Were Three

Walker-32.jpg

It's been almost two weeks since we've been at this whole We Have A Baby thing. We had our newborn photos taken this week and I'm completely in love with how they turned out. Ashlee is not only a talented photographer but a dear friend as well; I'm so glad she was able to so perfectly capture these first few moments as a family of three.

I wanted simple, candid shots of us at home and not only did she manage to capture the cozy essence I wanted but she did it in record time between Joel having to get ready for work and my bribing Walker with boobie milk in order to cooperate for the whole shoot. I will treasure these shots forever!

Work / The Naked Lemon

As mentioned before, I recently worked on a website for a pop-up bakery--we launched yesterday and I'm finally able to share with you guys!

I implemented her existing logo and designed the rest of her site around it and the stellar photography provided by Melissa (you may remember her as my previous client).

What makes The Naked Lemon unique is that in addition to taking orders for private parties/events, they also are a traveling pop-up bakery, setting up shop with their treats all over Astoria, Oregon. Mobile users viewing her site can check to see where The Naked Lemon will be next and get directions right from the site. Aleesha (the baker) was pleased at the page I created specifically to give information about this part of her business.

I had a blast creating this space for Aleesha--its been awhile since I have worked with small businesses in the food/beverage industry and I forgot how much I loved it. Visit the live site here → www.nakedlemonastoria.com

If you're in the market for a website and/or design work, check out my services and let me know!

Work / Melissa Righero Photography

A few weeks ago I launched a website for a dear friend of mine from home who moved her cute family to a foggy little coastal town in Oregon. An aspiring photographer, she came to me needing a website in which to showcase her work and have a way for potential clients to contact her.

I loved working with Melissa. Her photography is absolutely gorgeous so it made it easy to build a site around her work. You can view her live site here → www.melissa-righero.com

Sidenote:
Life's funny sometimes. I hadn't planned at all on getting back into design. Sure, I'd thought about it from time to time because I found myself missing it but it wasn't until Melissa approached me about needing a site that I started seriously thinking about taking on projects again. As soon as I started working on her site I got that giddy feeling I used to get back when I first started designing. I loved staying up late figuring out coding tweaks and hitting send on email proofs. I was hooked (again).

Upon completing her site, a friend of Melissa's inquired about me and now I'm working on her site. I'm still loving it and hoping the referral train continues because honestly, it's been a great way to save more money for baby things!

I've added a page to my site with details on how to work with me. Take a look and if you or anyone you know is in need of a website or graphic design work, please don't hesitate to get in touch. xx

Sister Sister

As some of you may know, my sister Elsa and I both happen to be pregnant at the same time. How cool is that?! She's due before me (next month!) and is having my first niece; I'm SO excited. It will be really neat to have Mila and Walker grow up as cousins so close in age, not to mention the special sister bond Elsa and I will share forever.

Naturally, we wanted to capture memories of this special time together so we had a little joint-maternity session over the weekend shot by my talented friend and photographer Tina Swain.

I'm so in love with how these turned out! Next month is my maternity session with Joel included and I can't wait for those. I'm taking as many photos as possible during this whole pregnancy because I just know I'm going to want to look back and remember this time so why not document it beautifully?
