Maternity photos

Inspiration / Milk Bath Photography

Back before I was even pregnant, I'd seen tons of milk bath photography shoots and have always thought they looked so romantic and dreamy. If you know me, you already know how much I love baths so now that I'm expecting I thought it'd be fun to try and use this doubly to my advantage!

I ordered this dress which should be arriving this weekend and I've commissioned my sister to help me take photos at my parents' who happen to have a large soaking tub. I've been pinning inspiration like crazy and these are some of my favorites.

Sunflowers are my favorite flower so I'm thinking of incorporating those but I also love Peonies and they're in season right now so I think a combination would be really pretty. I don't think you can really go wrong with florals.

I also really love the idea of doing another one of these once Walker is born, with him in them. How sweet is that?!

Sister Sister

As some of you may know, my sister Elsa and I both happen to be pregnant at the same time. How cool is that?! She's due before me (next month!) and is having my first niece; I'm SO excited. It will be really neat to have Mila and Walker grow up as cousins so close in age, not to mention the special sister bond Elsa and I will share forever.

Naturally, we wanted to capture memories of this special time together so we had a little joint-maternity session over the weekend shot by my talented friend and photographer Tina Swain.

I'm so in love with how these turned out! Next month is my maternity session with Joel included and I can't wait for those. I'm taking as many photos as possible during this whole pregnancy because I just know I'm going to want to look back and remember this time so why not document it beautifully?

Le Petite Bump

My wonderfully talented friend Melissa was in town last week and offered to take some (albeit early) maternity photos of me. Even though at the time I was just sixteen weeks along and my bump basically just looks like I ate a bunch of tacos (let's be real, I have been eating a bunch of tacos), I love her style of photography so much I just couldn't pass up the opportunity.
